Riding the Hollywood Trail. Tales of the Silver Screen Cowboys
Starting with The Great Train Robbery in 1903, "B" westerns would rule at the box office until their demise in 1955. From Broncho Billy, William S. Hart & Tom Mix through Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, John Wayne, Allan "Rocky" Lane and Charles Starrett the shoot 'em ups were a very popular subgenre that ran it's course with the introduction of television. Charlie LeSueur brings them all to life telling their real stories and not the hype usually associated with this type of book. Sidekicks are represented as well with their own chapter.
